Future Plans

It’s a great joy to see God touch and change lives around us but sometimes we don’t see the changes and immediate results as we wish to. I’m learning to trust  Him for the things  that I can’t see or change. I pray and expect the Holy Spirit to move into the situations  and lives of others.

My calling is to love and care for others. It’s not my job to bring God’s people to the Kingdom. It’s the Holy Spirit’s job. So, God can get all the glory!

Unfortunately, my time in Bradford is just about to come to an end. I have learnt so much in the last few years. I’m so grateful to God for the opportunities He has given me. I really thank God for all of you who have faithfully supported and prayed for me. I really appreciate everything you have done for me! Thanks for allowing God’s hand to touch me through you showing me His love and kindness! I apologize that I haven’t been very good at keeping in touch. I shall determine to improve in this area.

Erik and I plan to get married next year in Indonesia. We don’t have a set date yet, but I shall keep you informed. It would be so wonderful if you could be there!

1 Thessalonians 1:2-4: We are ever giving thanks to God for all of you, continually mentioning (you when engaged) in our payers. Recalling unceasingly before our God and Father your work energized by faith and service motivated by love, and unwavering hope in the return of) our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. [O] brethren, beloved by God. We recognize and know that He has selected (chosen) you;

We’ll move to Singapore after we marry. Erik completed his masters in mobile computing with distinction at the Bradford University. He will find a job in the computer field in Singapore. At the moment, I’m interested in doing a mission course with YWAM. Please pray for God’s direction in the next season of our lives. We do so appreciate your continued love and support.

Hebrew 6:10:

For God is not unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love which you have shown for his name’s sake in ministering to the needs of the saints—His own consecrated people—as you still do.

Her Story

One of  the great things that God has done since my arrival in Bradford is to introduce me to my wonderful fiancé Erik. He h as been a great encouragement in my life. This year we have met  quite a lot of students from China through the university. Bradford is a diverse city ethnically with students from all over the world.  We have also met students from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Holland, Japan, India, Indonesia and  Brunei,

We have had a wonderful time with them all. Most of them have come along to our weekly outreach meetings . We’ve got  to know some of them quite well. Five Chinese students gave their lives to Jesus on one of the student weekends away. It was awesome! In addition, we took students on shopping trips,  to Alton towers,  had social evenings, and invited them to dinner. We had a lot of fun with them. Recently, one undergraduate student  gave her life to Jesus at our local church. I have been discipling her and she has been baptized in the Holy Spirit. God is so good and faithful. I pray and believe that the seeds we have sown into each of the students lives will grow and bring forth fruit.

In April this year we passed a Chinese woman  on the street. I believe it was a God moment as I felt prompted to turn back and introduce myself to her. She couldn’t speak English and it seemed to me that she was quite lonely in a new country. We exchanged phone numbers and talked briefly. My friend and I prayed for her immediately. An hour later, she rang me and apologized and said that she had been lying to me about herself. She started to cry. I was so amazed and invited her for dinner that evening.. She came and told me all about herself and why she was in Bradford. She said that whilst lying in bed she couldn’t forget my face. She asked whether I was someone who God had sent to help her. She felt she had to ring me straight away. Praise the Lord! That’s exactly what My friend and I prayed.

After a lot  of struggles and prayers. She finally decided to return to China. Erik and I went with her to the Chinese embassy in Manchester to obtain a travel document for her to return to China. The day before she went  I baptized her in the bathroom to demonstrate what house Church was going to be like when she returned to China. She gave an amazing testimony about what God had done in her life. Erik and I took her to Heathrow airport. It touched my heart when I saw tears running down  her cheek. Now she’s happily living in China, and I have connected her to the Chinese house Church. I just pray and believe that she will walk close with God and respond to God’s call in her life. Please join me in prayer for this beautiful woman as God leads you.

Student Time at Alton Towers

In The Beginning

I’m sorry it’s been a while since I have been in touch with many of you. I have done this news letter to let you know how I am doing in Bradford since I moved to here in Sep 2004 and also to use this opportunity to give glory and thanks to God for all He has done!

So much has happened since I moved here. God has done a lot of things in and through me. I’ve seen many lives touched and changed by the love of God. By His grace He has enabled me to share His love with many foreign students here and to disciple them on a one to one basis. My vision is not just to see them saved, but that they would become disciples of Christ and reach out to the nations and other cultures with a  passion for Jesus. I long to see  God’s heart pour out on this earth.

Thanks to all of you who have faithfully prayed for me and supported me financially. I can’t do all these things without you. Your prayers and support have made a great difference not only in my life, but in the lives of many others too.

Some of you know that last Nov I had to return to China in order to renew my visa. God was so faithful as it didn’t look possible in the natural, but within one week of my arriving in China my visa had been re-issued. God is so awesome!  He didn’t just give me the visa, but I also had the privilege of leading my grand mum to the Lord! That was so incredible. We both cried and hugged each other with joy. I  can’t believe God has done so much in my family. We come from  a Muslim background. My grand mum still keeps some Muslim traditions but, I’m so thrilled she has now met Jesus.

I believe over time that she will walk in the complete freedom of Christ. Please stand with me  in agreement today that she will find a fellowship in her area. She needs people to help and encourage her in her walk with God and to help her grow.

I can see the difference in her since she accepted Christ. I have sent her a new testament Bible and some materials.  I give all the glory to God.
